Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnostic workups for companion animals
Diagnose and treat medical conditions, illnesses, and injuries
Perform surgical procedures and dental treatments
Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventative care
Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols
Monitor hospitalized patients and participate in case rounds when applicable

Candidate Profile

Qualifications include:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) from an accredited veterinary school
Active veterinary license in Iowa or eligibility for licensure
DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
