About the Practice
This is a compassionate, community-focused small animal hospital serving Auburn and surrounding areas, with a strong emphasis on personalised patient care and client communication.
The clinic operates with a close-knit 2-doctor team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where clinicians are encouraged to practise thoughtful, patient-centred medicine.
The hospital is fully equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including digital radiography, digital dental radiography, IDEXX in-house laboratory systems, point-of-care ultrasound, surgical facilities, and therapeutic cold laser therapy. The practice also provides care for a small number of exotic species and offers house-call euthanasia services to support compassionate end-of-life care.

Responsibilities
Provide preventative, diagnostic, medical, and surgical care for small animal patients
Perform routine wellness exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning
Deliver high-quality dentistry and soft tissue surgical procedures
Utilise in-house diagnostic tools and imaging systems
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
Contribute to a collaborative, supportive clinical team culture
Support low-stress handling techniques and patient-centred care practices
Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent qualification
Licensed or eligible to practice in Maine
Open to experienced veterinarians and confident clinicians (new graduates considered depending on fit)
Strong communication and client relationship skills
Interest in small animal general practice and preventative medicine
Compassionate, team-oriented, and patient-focused approach
Commitment to maintaining a positive and supportive clinical culture
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary (commensurate with experience). Ranging from $150,000 to $170,000
