Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will:
Diagnose and treat illnesses, diseases, and injuries in companion animals.
Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans based on individual patient needs.
Perform routine surgical procedures and provide appropriate perioperative care.
Prescribe medications and provide ongoing case management.
Deliver preventive healthcare, including vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition guidance, and early disease detection.
Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and home-care instructions to pet owners.
Build strong and trusted relationships with clients through compassionate communication.
Collaborate closely with veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technicians, and support colleagues.
Provide guidance to clinical support team members while recognising and utilising their skills.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
Manage a varied caseload effectively within a busy clinical environment.
Remain current with developments in veterinary medicine and contribute to continuous clinical improvement.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent and be eligible to practise veterinary medicine in California.
A current veterinary licence in good standing and appropriate DEA licensing are required.
