Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Provide high-quality wellness, medical, surgical, and dental care for companion animals

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations

• Develop individualised treatment plans focused on patient wellbeing

• Deliver preventative care recommendations, including vaccinations and nutrition guidance

• Perform procedures while prioritising patient comfort and reducing stress

• Provide compassionate end-of-life care when required

• Recommend specialist referrals when beneficial to patient outcomes

• Maintain current knowledge through continuing education and professional development

Client Experience

• Build lasting relationships with pet owners through empathy, trust, and clear communication

• Explain examination findings, diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes

• Create personalised preventative care plans

• Present treatment recommendations and estimates professionally

• Keep clients informed throughout their pet’s care journey

• Provide follow-up communication and ongoing support

Team Collaboration

• Contribute to a respectful, cooperative, and supportive workplace culture

• Collaborate with veterinary colleagues on complex cases and treatment decisions

• Support veterinary technicians and assistants through education and guidance

• Assist team members in maintaining efficient hospital workflows

• Share clinical knowledge and encourage continuous learning

Medical Records & Practice Standards

• Maintain accurate and complete SOAP medical records

• Ensure appropriate documentation of medical and surgical procedures

• Maintain required hospital logs and compliance records

• Support quality improvement initiatives

• Accurately document and charge for services provided

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school

• Active or eligible veterinary licence in Washington State

• A passion for companion animal medicine and exceptional patient care

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A positive attitude and collaborative approach

• A desire to build meaningful relationships with clients, pets, and the community
