Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, key responsibilities will include:
Performing comprehensive physical examinations and wellness care
Diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions
Developing diagnostic and treatment plans using a problem-oriented medical approach
Providing preventive healthcare recommendations
Performing routine and advanced surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and mass removals
Conducting dental examinations, treatments, and extractions
Managing hospitalized patients and coordinating referral care when necessary
Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records
Communicating effectively with pet owners regarding treatment recommendations and outcomes
Collaborating closely with veterinary technicians and support staff
Participating in clinical rounds and team discussions
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
Active veterinary licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in Massachusetts
DEA registration, or ability to obtain prior to start date
USDA accreditation, or ability to obtain within required timeframes
Confidence performing routine surgical and dental procedures
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
A collaborative approach to veterinary medicine
Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care
