Responsibilities

As an Associate Veterinarian, key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing comprehensive physical examinations and wellness care

  • Diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions

  • Developing diagnostic and treatment plans using a problem-oriented medical approach

  • Providing preventive healthcare recommendations

  • Performing routine and advanced surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and mass removals

  • Conducting dental examinations, treatments, and extractions

  • Managing hospitalized patients and coordinating referral care when necessary

  • Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records

  • Communicating effectively with pet owners regarding treatment recommendations and outcomes

  • Collaborating closely with veterinary technicians and support staff

  • Participating in clinical rounds and team discussions

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Active veterinary licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in Massachusetts

  • DEA registration, or ability to obtain prior to start date

  • USDA accreditation, or ability to obtain within required timeframes

  • Confidence performing routine surgical and dental procedures

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills

  • A collaborative approach to veterinary medicine

  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care
