Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for:
Performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostics, and medical work-ups.
Developing effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Providing preventative care, internal medicine, surgical, and dental services.
Performing routine surgical procedures and maintaining high standards of patient care.
Communicating clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care.
Maintaining accurate medical records and following veterinary documentation standards.
Prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols.
Monitoring hospitalised patients and participating in daily medical rounds.
Supporting efficient hospital operations through teamwork and collaboration.
Working closely with hospital leadership to maintain clinical standards and improve patient outcomes.
Contributing to staff development, knowledge sharing, and a positive team culture.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
A current veterinary licence or eligibility to obtain licensure in Colorado.
DEA registration or ability to obtain and maintain registration.
1+ years of veterinary practice experience preferred.
Strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills.
Excellent communication and client relationship-building abilities.
A compassionate approach to patient care and client service.
The ability to work effectively within a collaborative veterinary team.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and high-quality medicine.
Veterinarians with an interest in orthopaedics are encouraged to apply, although this is not required. The role provides exposure to a varied caseload and opportunities to develop individual clinical interests.
