Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive medical, preventive, diagnostic, surgical and dental care to small animal patients.
Examine patients, diagnose diseases and injuries and develop appropriate individual treatment plans.
Prescribe medications and perform surgical procedures in accordance with appropriate clinical standards.
Communicate diagnoses, treatment recommendations and home-care instructions clearly and compassionately with pet owners.
Educate clients regarding vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, wellness care and early disease detection.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support professionals to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.
Maintain accurate medical records and uphold appropriate veterinary ethical and regulatory standards.
Manage time effectively within a busy, high-volume general practice environment.
Participate in continuing education and remain current with developments in veterinary medicine.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent.
Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a California veterinary licence in good standing, alongside the required DEA registration.
Strong communication, clinical judgement and decision-making skills are important, as is the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should be comfortable with diagnostic procedures, general surgical techniques and modern veterinary technology.
The successful veterinarian will demonstrate compassion towards patients and clients while maintaining high professional and clinical standards.
