An exciting opportunity is available for an Associate Veterinarian to join a well-established small animal urgent care and general practice in Nantucket, Massachusetts. The role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys building long-term client relationships while also managing a diverse and interesting caseload, including wellness, sick visits, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care cases.
Location: Nantucket, Massachusetts
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Sign-On Bonus: Generous sign-on bonus (amount not specified)
Compensation: Competitive base salary with production bonus and no negative accrual

This full-service veterinary hospital provides comprehensive care for a wide range of species, including dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, birds, and fish. The clinic delivers both general practice and urgent care services, ensuring a dynamic and varied caseload.

Responsibilities
Conduct wellness and preventative care examinations
Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions
Perform routine surgical and dental procedures
Provide urgent care and manage medical emergencies
Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans
Communicate effectively with clients regarding care options and outcomes
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance regulations
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff
Participate in ongoing clinical development and training opportunities
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
DVM or VMD degree (or equivalent)
Active Massachusetts veterinary license or eligibility prior to start date
Active DEA license or eligibility
Strong clinical, diagnostic, and surgical skills
Excellent communication and client relationship-building abilities
A compassionate, patient-focused approach to veterinary medicine
Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
Interest in general practice and urgent care caseloads
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary (ranging from $160,000 to $180,000)
