Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will:
Diagnose and treat illnesses, diseases, and injuries in companion animals.
Develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans based on individual patient needs.
Perform routine surgical procedures and provide appropriate perioperative care.
Prescribe medications and provide ongoing case management.
Utilise in-house laboratory testing and digital diagnostic imaging where appropriate.
Deliver preventive healthcare, including vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition guidance, and early disease detection.
Educate clients about maintaining healthy lifestyles for their pets.
Clearly explain diagnoses, treatment options, prognoses, and home-care requirements.
Build trusted and lasting relationships with clients through compassionate communication.
Collaborate effectively with veterinary technicians, support staff, and fellow veterinarians.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
Stay current with advances in veterinary medicine and contribute to continuous clinical improvement.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent and be eligible to practise veterinary medicine in California.
A current veterinary licence in good standing and appropriate DEA licensing are required.
