Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will:
Diagnose and treat illnesses, diseases, and injuries in companion animals.
Develop comprehensive diagnostic and treatment plans based on individual patient needs.
Perform routine surgical procedures and provide appropriate perioperative care.
Prescribe medications and provide ongoing case management.
Manage wellness, preventive, medical, and urgent care appointments.
Deliver preventive healthcare, including vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition guidance, and early disease detection.
Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment options, prognoses, and home-care instructions to pet owners.
Build trusted and lasting client relationships through compassionate and professional communication.
Collaborate effectively with veterinary technicians, support colleagues, and fellow veterinarians.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient medical records.
Manage time and caseloads effectively within a busy clinical environment.
Remain current with advances in veterinary medicine and contribute to continuous clinical improvement.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent and be eligible to practise veterinary medicine in California.
A current veterinary licence in good standing and appropriate DEA licensing are required.
