Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive examinations and diagnostic evaluations
Develop personalised treatment plans focused on patient health and wellbeing
Deliver preventative healthcare recommendations, including vaccinations and nutrition guidance
Perform medical procedures while minimising patient stress and discomfort
Provide compassionate end-of-life care when needed
Recommend specialist referrals when appropriate to improve patient outcomes
Maintain current veterinary knowledge through continuing education and professional development
Client Experience
Build long-term relationships with clients through empathy, trust, and communication
Gather comprehensive patient histories and understand client goals
Explain examination findings, diagnoses, and treatment options clearly
Recommend preventative healthcare plans tailored to individual patients
Present treatment plans and estimates professionally
Keep clients informed throughout diagnosis and treatment
Provide follow-up communication to support ongoing patient care
Team Collaboration
Promote a respectful, supportive, and collaborative workplace culture
Work alongside veterinary colleagues on diagnostics, treatment planning, and procedures
Provide mentorship and guidance to veterinary support team members

Medical Records & Practice Standards
Maintain complete and accurate SOAP medical records
Ensure medical, surgical, laboratory, and regulatory documentation is completed correctly
Follow hospital protocols and quality standards
Support efficient patient workflows and practice operations
Accurately document services provided and maintain professional standards
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
Active or eligible veterinary licence in Washington State
A passion for companion animal medicine and excellent patient care
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A positive, team-focused attitude
A desire to develop meaningful relationships with clients, patients, and the community
