Responsibilities

The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for providing high-quality medical and surgical care to companion animals while supporting the overall success of the hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing comprehensive patient examinations and diagnostics

  • Developing treatment plans and prescribing medications

  • Performing routine and advanced surgical procedures

  • Providing client education and treatment recommendations

  • Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records

  • Monitoring hospitalized patients and participating in daily case discussions

  • Supporting hospital efficiency and teamwork

  • Collaborating with leadership on hospital priorities and protocols

  • Upholding high standards of patient care from intake through discharge

  • Participating in continuing education and training initiatives

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical and communication skills along with a genuine passion for veterinary medicine and client care.

Qualifications include:

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution

  • Active California veterinary license or ability to obtain

  • DEA registration or willingness to obtain

  • Minimum of 1 year of veterinary experience preferred

  • Strong surgical and dental skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication abilities

  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment

  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care
