Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive wellness examinations, consultations, and medical assessments
Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of small animal cases
Perform surgical and dental procedures
Communicate treatment plans and recommendations clearly with clients
Educate pet owners on preventative care and ongoing health management
Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
Prescribe medications while following pharmacy and controlled substance protocols
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to improve patient care
Promote teamwork, efficiency, and a positive hospital culture
Monitor hospitalized patients and participate in case reviews when required
Support hospital protocols, quality standards, and operational improvements
Work alongside hospital leadership on priorities, training, and team development
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution
Active Arkansas veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one
Ability to obtain and maintain DEA registration
Minimum 1 year of veterinary practice experience preferred
Strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills
Excellent communication and client relationship-building abilities
A compassionate approach to patient care
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused environment
Commitment to continued professional development and lifelong learning

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $145,000–$165,000 base salary depending on experience
