Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will:
Diagnose and treat diseases, illnesses, and injuries across a varied veterinary caseload.
Develop comprehensive diagnostic and treatment plans tailored to individual patients.
Provide medical and surgical care to dogs, cats, and, where appropriate, exotic species.
Perform routine surgical procedures and provide perioperative care.
Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment, including digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and in-house laboratory testing.
Prescribe medications and provide ongoing case management.
Deliver preventive healthcare and educate clients on nutrition, husbandry, parasite prevention, vaccinations, and early disease detection.
Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment options, prognoses, and home-care requirements to clients.
Build trusted relationships with pet owners through compassionate and professional communication.
Collaborate closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support professionals.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
Continue developing clinical knowledge across traditional and exotic animal medicine.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent and be eligible to practise veterinary medicine in California.
A current veterinary licence in good standing and appropriate DEA licensing are required.
