An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Clinical Director in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, to lead the launch and development of a brand-new veterinary clinic focused on redefining the future of pet care.
This is a rare opportunity for a veterinary leader who wants to shape a practice from the beginning, combining clinical excellence, team leadership and business strategy within a beautifully designed, purpose-built environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overall clinic performance across clinical delivery, people leadership and business performance, while maintaining a strong focus on exceptional patient care and client experience.
Working alongside the wider leadership team, you will have autonomy to lead the clinic, develop a high-performing team and establish a culture built around collaboration, innovation and clinical excellence.

The Clinical Director will play a key role in building the identity of the clinic, developing the team and helping establish a new standard for veterinary care within the local community.
Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Excellence
Lead the delivery of outstanding clinical care across the practice.
Spend approximately 80% of time clinically engaged, supporting patient care and leading by example.
Ensure all team members work effectively within their qualifications and capabilities.
Promote evidence-based medicine and maintain high clinical standards.
Lead clinical governance, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve clinical performance and develop new services.
Support education, CPD and professional development across the team.
Encourage excellent teamwork and collaboration.
Business Performance
Support the achievement of clinic growth and performance objectives.
Promote membership services and client acquisition strategies.
Work alongside relevant team members to achieve membership goals.
Create exceptional client experiences and build long-term relationships.
Understand and contribute to financial performance, budgets and KPIs.
Support pricing strategies and ensure accurate charging for services provided.
Help guide the clinic towards sustainable growth and profitability.
Practice Strategy & Operations
Develop and implement local clinic strategies.
Oversee key operational areas including recruitment, HR, health and safety, marketing and client care.
Ensure health and safety policies are understood and followed.
Support effective client communication, including clear consent processes and treatment estimates.
Oversee clinical and non-clinical client feedback and complaints.
Team Leadership & Development
Act as the figurehead of the clinic and promote a positive team culture.
Direct, support and develop the veterinary team.
Line manage and support the Practice Manager and Head Nurse.
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance discussions.
Lead team meetings and ensure effective communication across the practice.
Encourage a culture of respect, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Wellbeing & Culture
Promote a supportive workplace where team wellbeing is prioritised.
Identify and address wellbeing concerns early.
Encourage open communication and psychological safety.
Help create a culture built on trust, transparency and mutual respect.
Brand Advocacy
Represent the organisation within the veterinary industry and local community.
Promote the values and ethos of the practice.
Support community engagement initiatives such as local events, schools and pet-focused activities.
Contribute ideas to help shape the future direction of the organisation.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
MRCVS registration or equivalent eligibility to practise in the UK.
Significant experience working as a Veterinary Surgeon.
Proven leadership or management experience within veterinary practice.
Strong clinical decision-making skills and commitment to evidence-based medicine.
Experience supporting and developing veterinary teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for mentoring colleagues and building a positive workplace culture.
Commercial awareness and an understanding of practice performance.
The ability to balance clinical excellence with strategic leadership.
A proactive, entrepreneurial approach with a desire to shape a new veterinary service.
