Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will:
Provide immediate medical care for emergency and critical patients
Triage, assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans
Manage hospitalised patients and oversee ongoing care
Perform emergency surgical procedures and critical care interventions
Supervise veterinary technicians implementing treatment plans
Communicate effectively with pet owners during stressful situations
Collaborate with emergency and specialty teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes
Maintain accurate medical records
Uphold the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent qualification
Active veterinary licence in good standing, or eligibility to obtain licensure, in New Mexico
Active DEA licence or eligibility to obtain DEA registration
Experience in emergency medicine strongly preferred
Experience through emergency practice, small animal rotating internship, or emergency internship highly valued
Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Confidence managing critically ill and injured patients
