Responsibilities

The Emergency Veterinarian will be responsible for providing urgent and critical care to a high-volume, diverse caseload.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing emergency and critical care cases

  • Performing rapid diagnostics and stabilisation of patients

  • Interpreting diagnostic imaging and laboratory results

  • Performing emergency procedures and stabilisation surgeries where required

  • Communicating clearly with clients regarding patient status and treatment plans

  • Collaborating closely with specialty departments

  • Participating in patient handovers and case discussions

  • Maintaining accurate and timely medical records

  • Contributing to a supportive, team-based emergency environment

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a confident, adaptable veterinarian who is comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency setting and committed to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications include:

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school

  • Eligibility for veterinary licensure in Idaho

  • Strong clinical and decision-making skills in emergency medicine

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a team environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Emergency experience is preferred, but structured mentorship is available for veterinarians transitioning into ER medicine.
