This is an opportunity for an Emergency Veterinarian job in Concord, New Hampshire, based within a high-performing emergency and referral veterinary hospital serving Merrimack County and the wider New England region.

The position is based on 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, with salary negotiable based on experience, skills, and clinical capability. This structure supports a strong work-life balance while maintaining exposure to complex emergency caseloads.

About the Practice

This is a 14,000-square-foot emergency and referral veterinary hospital in Concord, New Hampshire, equipped to deliver advanced small animal emergency and specialty care.

The hospital is fully supported by a multidisciplinary team of board-certified specialists in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, and Anesthesiology, alongside an experienced emergency veterinary team.

Clinical capabilities include CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, digital radiography, continuous ECG monitoring, critical care ventilators, and in-house laboratory services, as well as advanced treatment options such as radioactive iodine (I-131) therapy for feline hyperthyroidism.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency veterinary care for small animal patients

  • Triage, diagnose, and manage urgent and critical cases

  • Collaborate closely with specialists across internal medicine, surgery, neurology, and anaesthesia

  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilisation of critical patients

  • Deliver clear and compassionate client communication during high-pressure situations

  • Work effectively within a fast-paced, team-driven clinical environment

  • Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence

Candidate Profile

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD or equivalent)

  • Eligible for or holding a valid New Hampshire veterinary licence

  • Strong interest or experience in emergency or critical care veterinary medicine

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-case-volume environment

  • Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills

  • Team-focused approach with a collaborative mindset

  • Both experienced emergency veterinarians and newer graduates with strong interest in ER considered
