A leading veterinary practice in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Emergency Veterinarian to join their experienced after-hours emergency team. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive emergency examinations and diagnostic assessments

  • Diagnose and treat urgent medical conditions, injuries, and illnesses

  • Perform emergency surgical procedures as required

  • Interpret diagnostic imaging, including radiographs and ultrasound where appropriate

  • Develop effective treatment plans for critical and urgent care cases

  • Administer medications and provide appropriate patient monitoring

  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and outcomes

  • Maintain accurate medical records

  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support team members to deliver exceptional patient care

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced veterinarian who is confident managing emergency cases and enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements include:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school

  • Active Indiana veterinary license or eligibility to obtain one

  • Experience handling emergency and critical care cases

  • Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays

  • Confidence performing emergency surgical procedures

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication skills with clients and team members
