Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 emergency and critical care for small animal and exotic patients

  • Perform rapid triage, diagnostics, and stabilisation of emergency cases

  • Conduct full physical examinations and develop diagnostic treatment plans

  • Utilise advanced diagnostics including ultrasound, radiography, bloodwork, and biopsies

  • Perform emergency surgical procedures (soft tissue) and endoscopic procedures

  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and estimates

  • Deliver compassionate, real-time updates and education to pet owners

  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary emergency team

  • Work within rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent qualification holder

  • Passionate about emergency medicine and critical care

  • Comfortable handling a high-volume, fast-paced ER environment

  • Skilled or willing to develop skills in emergency surgery and endoscopy

  • A strong communicator with a client-centred approach

  • A collaborative team player who thrives in dynamic hospital settings

  • Physically able to meet the demands of emergency clinical work

  • Willing to work rotating shifts including overnights, weekends, and holidays

  • Curious, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and development
