Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 emergency and critical care for small animal and exotic patients
Perform rapid triage, diagnostics, and stabilisation of emergency cases
Conduct full physical examinations and develop diagnostic treatment plans
Utilise advanced diagnostics including ultrasound, radiography, bloodwork, and biopsies
Perform emergency surgical procedures (soft tissue) and endoscopic procedures
Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and estimates
Deliver compassionate, real-time updates and education to pet owners
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary emergency team
Work within rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent qualification holder
Passionate about emergency medicine and critical care
Comfortable handling a high-volume, fast-paced ER environment
Skilled or willing to develop skills in emergency surgery and endoscopy
A strong communicator with a client-centred approach
A collaborative team player who thrives in dynamic hospital settings
Physically able to meet the demands of emergency clinical work
Willing to work rotating shifts including overnights, weekends, and holidays
Curious, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and development
