A veterinary practice is seeking a Full-Time Emergency Veterinarian to join its experienced small animal emergency team in Vass, North Carolina.

This dedicated small animal emergency practice provides urgent and emergency veterinary care for dogs and cats, with a strong focus on rapid assessment, effective stabilisation and excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
Provide emergency and urgent medical and surgical care for small animal patients.
Triage, assess and stabilise critically ill or injured patients.
Perform emergency diagnostic and surgical procedures.
Manage complex and time-sensitive medical cases.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, prognosis and treatment options.
Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and support staff.
Mentor and support colleagues where appropriate.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
Follow established clinical protocols and maintain high standards of patient care.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent qualification.
A current North Carolina veterinary licence or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Emergency veterinary experience preferred, although new graduates with a strong emergency skillset are encouraged to apply.
Confidence with essential emergency procedures, including intubation, venipuncture and urinary catheterisation.
Basic emergency surgical capabilities.
Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Excellent client communication and teamwork abilities.
The flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends.
