About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon in Gillingham, Kent, offering up to £70,000 DOE, flexible working and no out-of-hours requirements.
This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to deliver high-quality clinical care within a supportive, collaborative environment while maintaining a strong work-life balance.
The position provides a varied first-opinion caseload across consultations and surgery, with the autonomy and clinical support needed to manage cases effectively. There is also excellent scope to develop individual clinical interests, with funded CPD and certificate support available.
Hours: 40 hours per week, typically worked across 4 x 10-hour days, 9am–7pm
Weekends: 1 in 3 Saturdays, 9am–6pm, including a paid one-hour lunch
OOH: None
Flexible working patterns: Available and open to discussion
About the Practice
The practice is a purpose-built small animal veterinary practice in Gillingham, providing high-quality first-opinion care to an established and loyal client base.
The team includes 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 2 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 6 Receptionists and a Practice Manager, creating a close-knit working environment where communication, collaboration and knowledge-sharing are highly valued.

The successful candidate will have access to experienced colleagues and a supportive team structure, while being encouraged to contribute ideas and help develop clinical standards and workflows.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality clinical care across consultations and surgical cases
Manage routine medical and surgical cases confidently
Build strong, long-term relationships with clients and their pets
Work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs and the wider practice team
Occasionally work in a sole-charge capacity, with support available when required
Contribute ideas to improve clinical standards, processes and workflow
Develop and pursue individual clinical interests
Maintain high standards of patient welfare and clinical care
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is confident managing routine medical and surgical cases and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
They will have a genuine commitment to delivering excellent patient care and building trusted relationships with clients.
