Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Schedule: Full Time (4-day week, 1 in 4 weekends – mornings only)
Salary: Up to £80,000 per year DOE + relocation package

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon (Small Animal) to join a high-performing, independent practice in the desirable coastal town of Worthing. This role is ideal for a vet with 3+ years’ experience seeking a position that combines clinical excellence, case variety, and an exceptional lifestyle.
The successful candidate will work within a busy and progressive environment, managing a varied caseload with access to advanced procedures and facilities. The role offers a 4-day working week, with 1 in 4 weekend mornings only and time off in lieu, supporting a strong work-life balance.
About the Practice
The practice is part of a well-established independent veterinary group, known for delivering high standards of clinical care and client service. With a loyal and growing client base, the practice offers a consistently varied and rewarding caseload.
Facilities are state-of-the-art, including advanced imaging, laparoscopic equipment, endoscopy, digital radiography, and a full in-house laboratory. The wider team provides access to specialist services such as orthopaedics, ophthalmology, internal medicine, and regenerative treatments, ensuring excellent support for complex cases.
A nearby 24-hour emergency hospital provides out-of-hours support, allowing continuity of care without on-call commitments.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality care across a varied small animal caseload
Perform routine and advanced diagnostic and surgical procedures
Work collaboratively with a skilled and supportive clinical team
Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring excellent communication
Contribute to the ongoing development and clinical standards of the practice
Candidate Profile
RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience
Confident in routine surgery and medical case management
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Keen to develop and utilise advanced clinical skills
Compensation & Benefits
