About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse / Head RVN to join a small animal practice in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. Offering a salary starting from £35,000 DOE, this is an ideal role for a nurse ready to step into leadership while maintaining strong clinical involvement.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a 1-in-4 Saturday morning rota (9:00am–12:00pm) and no out-of-hours or overnight inpatient checks, ensuring an excellent work-life balance.
The role offers a 60/40 split between nursing and leadership responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to remain hands-on clinically while helping to shape and develop the nursing team.

Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the day-to-day running of the clinical nursing team
Deliver high-quality hands-on nursing care across a varied caseload
Support surgical procedures, inpatient care, and nurse consultations
Mentor, train, and develop RVNs, student nurses, and support staff
Conduct appraisals, clinical audits, and performance reviews
Optimise workflows and ensure smooth operational efficiency
Act as a positive role model, promoting high clinical standards
Candidate Profile
RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with strong clinical experience
Previous experience in a senior or leadership role (desirable)
Confident in medical and surgical nursing
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Passionate about team development, mentoring, and leadership
Proactive, forward-thinking, and committed to high standards of care
Compensation & Benefits
