You will spend an 8-hour shift every fourth weekend at a nearby 24-hour hospital, alternating between Saturdays and Sundays. This provides valuable exposure to complex cases, advanced diagnostics, specialist teams, and a wider clinical network.

Responsibilities
As Head Veterinary Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
Providing clinical leadership, guidance, and support to the nursing team
Delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining high clinical standards
Leading nurse consultations and Schedule 3 activities
Supporting veterinary surgeons with consultations, surgical procedures, and treatments
Managing patient monitoring, admissions, and discharges
Ensuring compliance with regulatory, operational, and practice standards
Supporting the development, training, and progression of nursing colleagues
Delivering excellent client care and building strong relationships with pet owners
Working collaboratively within both a primary care and hospital environment
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be:
A RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
An experienced veterinary nurse with strong clinical knowledge
Confident leading, motivating, and developing a nursing team
Passionate about delivering exceptional patient and client care
Organised, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Interested in developing their leadership skills and expanding their clinical experience
