Senior / Head Registered Veterinary Nurse

Schedule: Full Time (4 days per week)
Salary: Up to £39,000 per year DOE

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior or Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a busy first opinion small animal practice in South East London. This role is ideal for an experienced RVN looking to step into or progress within a leadership position, while remaining actively involved in clinical work.
The successful candidate will play a key role in clinical coaching and supporting student nurses, alongside delivering high standards of patient care within a varied and rewarding caseload. The practice sees a strong mix of surgical and medical cases, including orthopaedics and complex medicine, offering excellent exposure and development opportunities.

The practice operates from a well-established, spacious site, with multiple consult rooms, dedicated prep and ward areas, and separate cat-friendly facilities. The clinic is ISFM Silver Accredited Cat Friendly, demonstrating a commitment to high standards of feline care.

Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care across a varied small animal caseload
Support and mentor student veterinary nurses and junior team members
Assist with surgical procedures, including orthopaedic cases
Oversee patient care, ensuring excellent clinical standards
Contribute to the smooth running of the practice and team development
Support leadership responsibilities where applicable (Head RVN level)
Candidate Profile
RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
Previous experience in a senior or leadership role, or ready to step up
Passion for clinical coaching and team development
Strong clinical skills across surgery, wards, and patient care
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Proactive, team-oriented, and committed to high standards
