Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
Lead and mentor the veterinary team.
Promote high standards of medical care and clinical excellence.
Provide coaching and professional development for associate veterinarians.
Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention of veterinary talent.
Conduct medical record reviews and provide constructive clinical feedback.
Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations, medical protocols, and professional standards.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused hospital culture.
Hospital Operations
Partner with hospital leadership to drive operational and financial performance.
Assist with veterinarian scheduling and workforce planning.
Monitor hospital performance metrics and identify growth opportunities.
Support inventory management and controlled substance compliance.
Address client concerns and assist with service recovery when necessary.
Promote workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
Clinical Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive physical examinations and preventive healthcare services.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions in companion animals.
Develop diagnostic and treatment plans using a problem-oriented approach.
Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures, including:
Spays and neuters
Exploratory surgeries
Mass removals
Soft tissue procedures
Perform routine and advanced dental procedures, including extractions and oral surgery.
Manage hospitalized patients and coordinate referral care when required.
Maintain detailed and accurate medical records.
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment plans and patient care.
Candidate Profile
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
Eligible for veterinary licensure in Massachusetts.
Minimum 1–3 years of clinical veterinary experience.
Previous leadership, mentorship, or coaching experience preferred.
DEA license or ability to obtain upon hire.
USDA accreditation or ability to obtain within required timeframes.
Strong surgical, dental, and medical skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
Strong understanding of clinical operations and team management.
