Responsibilities
Provide strategic clinical leadership across emergency and specialty services
Partner with the Hospital Director to lead the hospital through a collaborative leadership model
Recruit, mentor, develop, and support veterinary clinicians, interns, and residents
Oversee doctor onboarding, performance management, scheduling, and professional development
Promote a positive culture focused on collaboration, engagement, and continuous improvement
Ensure the efficient, safe, and compassionate delivery of patient care
Support hospital growth through strategic recruitment and service development
Work alongside senior leadership to develop and manage operational plans, budgets, and financial performance
Strengthen relationships with referring veterinarians through outreach and continuing education initiatives
Manage complex client, patient, and referral partner concerns while maintaining the highest standards of professional service
Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced veterinarian with a proven record of clinical leadership and practice development.
Candidates should have:
5–7+ years of progressive leadership experience within a veterinary organisation
Board certification in a veterinary specialty, significant emergency medicine experience, military veterinary leadership, animal health leadership experience, or equivalent senior clinical leadership
Demonstrated success leading teams through growth, change, and organisational development
Excellent leadership, communication, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills
Strong commercial awareness alongside a commitment to outstanding clinical care
The ability to inspire, motivate, and develop multidisciplinary veterinary teams
A passion for fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture
