Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Hospital Director to lead hospital operations through a collaborative leadership model

  • Oversee doctor recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and professional development

  • Manage physician scheduling, department meetings, and internal clinical communications

  • Support efficient and compassionate patient care through effective clinical workflow management

  • Address escalated client concerns and referral partner issues

  • Foster strong relationships with referring veterinarians and referral partners

  • Support hospital growth through strategic planning and recruitment initiatives

  • Collaborate on hospital budgeting, operational planning, and financial oversight

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, leadership, and compassionate care

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership capabilities and a commitment to advancing veterinary medicine within a collaborative hospital environment.

Candidates should possess:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree

  • Eligibility for veterinary licensure in Louisiana

  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience within veterinary medicine

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical or hospital settings

  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills

  • Ability to mentor veterinarians, interns, and residents

  • Experience in emergency, specialty, or referral hospital environments

Board-certified specialists, experienced ER veterinarians, veterinarians with military leadership experience, or those with senior leadership roles in animal health organizations are strongly encouraged to apply.
