Responsibilities
The Medical Director will:
Oversee and maintain high standards of clinical care and medical protocols
Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for veterinary team members
Collaborate with hospital leadership to drive operational and financial performance
Continue to deliver hands-on clinical care, including surgery, dentistry, and consultations
Review medical records to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance
Manage controlled substances and ensure regulatory adherence
Lead regular doctor meetings and support team communication
Handle complex client cases, complaints, and patient care challenges
Identify opportunities for service expansion and hospital growth
Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of veterinarians
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a confident and compassionate veterinarian with strong leadership capabilities.
Requirements include:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution
Active veterinary license (state-specific or ability to obtain)
3–5+ years of clinical experience in small animal practice
Strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care
