A progressive, AAHA-accredited small animal hospital in Dover, Delaware is seeking a Medical Director Veterinarian to lead their clinical team while continuing to practice high-quality medicine.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian looking to combine hands-on patient care with leadership and mentorship responsibilities in a collaborative, well-supported environment. The Medical Director will play a key role in shaping medical standards, mentoring associate veterinarians, and supporting hospital growth and performance.

This established companion animal hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, including ultrasound, digital radiography, dental radiography, and laser therapy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventative care to companion animals.

  • Lead and mentor associate veterinarians and clinical staff.

  • Establish and maintain medical quality standards across the hospital.

  • Support hospital operations, financial performance, and strategic growth initiatives.

  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and positive team culture.

  • Build strong client relationships through compassionate communication and education.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Support ongoing staff training and professional development.

Candidate Profile

  • DVM or equivalent from an accredited institution.

  • Active (or eligible) Delaware veterinary license.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.

  • Passion for practicing high-quality veterinary medicine.

  • Team-oriented with a collaborative and supportive approach.
