An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon to join a dedicated small animal emergency team in Wokingham, Berkshire.
This permanent part-time role offers an attractive 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota, providing excellent flexibility and a strong work-life balance while allowing you to deliver high-quality emergency and first opinion veterinary care.

The team includes experienced Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and reception colleagues who work collaboratively to provide outstanding patient care.
As a nurse training practice, the clinic has a motivated and skilled nursing team that supports excellent clinical standards and encourages a positive learning environment.
Located in Wokingham, Berkshire, the practice offers excellent access to surrounding areas including Reading, Bracknell, Guildford, and surrounding Berkshire communities.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality out-of-hours veterinary care for small animal patients.
Manage emergency consultations and inpatient cases.
Perform medical assessments, diagnostics, and surgical procedures where required.
Develop appropriate treatment plans and make confident clinical decisions.
Deliver compassionate and clear communication with clients.
Maintain accurate clinical records and patient documentation.
Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and the wider OOH team.
Support a culture of continuous improvement and clinical excellence.
Participate in CPD and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Share knowledge and support colleagues within the practice.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a confident Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon with the ability to manage cases independently while working as part of a supportive team.
You will have:
RCVS registration and eligibility to work as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK.
Experience within small animal veterinary practice.
Confidence managing emergency, medical, and surgical cases.
Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and client-care abilities.
A passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.
