Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and medical assessments

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions in companion animals

  • Develop and implement diagnostic and treatment plans

  • Perform routine surgical and dental procedures

  • Conduct and interpret diagnostic testing

  • Educate clients on preventative care, treatment options, and ongoing wellness plans

  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

  • Prescribe medications and ensure compliance with controlled substance regulations

  • Monitor hospitalized patients and participate in case management discussions

  • Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and support staff

  • Support hospital protocols, operational efficiency, and patient care initiatives

  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school

  • Active Massachusetts veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain licensure

  • DEA registration or ability to obtain and maintain registration

  • Minimum of one year of veterinary practice experience preferred

  • Strong diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
