Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Veterinarian, responsibilities will include:
Performing comprehensive physical examinations and wellness assessments
Diagnosing and treating medical conditions in companion animals
Developing diagnostic and treatment plans using evidence-based medicine
Providing preventive healthcare recommendations
Performing routine surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and soft tissue surgeries
Conducting dental examinations and dental procedures
Managing hospitalized patients and coordinating referral care when appropriate
Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records
Communicating effectively with pet owners regarding diagnoses and treatment options
Collaborating with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure exceptional patient care
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school
Active veterinary licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in Massachusetts
DEA registration, or ability to obtain prior to start date
USDA accreditation, or ability to obtain within required timeframes
Confidence performing routine surgeries and dentistry procedures
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and client service abilities
A collaborative and compassionate approach to veterinary medicine
Commitment to providing exceptional patient care
