The Role
As an Audit & Accounts Trainee / Semi-Senior Accountant, you will work closely with managers and senior team members while developing your technical knowledge and professional qualifications.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with and undertaking statutory audit assignments for a broad range of clients.
Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
Drafting corporation tax computations and supporting schedules.
Preparing bookkeeping records, VAT returns, and management accounts.
Working with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
Supporting senior staff with client queries and advisory projects.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines.
Requirements
To be considered for this Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior job in Horsforth, Leeds, candidates should have:
A minimum of 18 months' experience working within an accountancy practice.
Previous experience preparing statutory accounts.
Some exposure to audit assignments or a strong interest in developing audit experience.
Knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
AAT qualified, studying AAT, or part-qualified ACA / ACCA (desirable but not essential).
