About the Opportunity
A well-established accountancy practice in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire is looking to recruit an Accountant to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 2 years of accountancy practice experience who is looking to further develop their technical skills within a supportive and professional environment.
The practice is reachable from Peterborough, Chatteris and St Ives.
The role offers varied exposure across general practice services, working with sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing statutory accounts for a portfolio of clients
Completing bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Assisting with personal and corporation tax returns
Supporting senior accountants and managers with client work
Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain information
Ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines
About You
Minimum 2 years’ experience within a practice
Ideally AAT Level 3 or Level 4 qualified
Experience across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT, and tax returns
Good understanding of accounting principles and compliance work
Familiar with cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
Positive, proactive, and willing to learn
