The Opportunity – Accounts and Audit Semi Senior / Senior in Rochdale
A well-established and fast-growing accountancy practice in Rochdale, Greater Manchester is seeking an Accounts and Audit Semi Senior / Senior to join their expanding team.
This is a mixed role (65% accounts / 35% audit), offering exposure to a diverse client base including SMEs, large corporates, and charities. The position is ideal for someone looking to progress their career within a supportive and ambitious firm.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of statutory accounts, including notes and disclosures (FRS102 knowledge advantageous)
Processing accounts and audit journals
Assisting with and managing audit assignments
Completing audit testing and reviewing audit work
Supporting and mentoring junior team members
Preparing corporation tax returns and capital allowance computations
Working on ad hoc assignments such as cashflow forecasts and due diligence
Liaising directly with clients and building strong relationships
Requirements
ACA / ACCA part-qualified or newly qualified
Previous experience within an accountancy practice (audit and accounts)
Experience with charity audits is desirable
Strong understanding of accounting standards, auditing standards, and company law
Good knowledge of corporation tax (VAT and payroll knowledge beneficial)
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
Experience using Excel (knowledge of CCH, Pro-audit, or Mercia is advantageous)
A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership of work
