Accounts Assistant – Blackpool (Accountancy Practice Opportunity)
A growing and modern accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant in Blackpool to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practice experience (AAT or part-qualified ACA/ACCA) who is looking to build a long-term career in accountancy and client services.

The Opportunity
This Accounts Assistant role in Blackpool sits within a well-established accountancy practice supporting a diverse portfolio of SME clients.
The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across accounts preparation, VAT returns, bookkeeping, and tax support, with full training and development provided.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to progress within a practice environment and develop towards an Accounts Senior or qualified accountant role.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Supporting the preparation of corporation tax computations and VAT returns
Assisting with bookkeeping and management accounts preparation
Preparing and submitting confirmation statements and compliance documents
Working closely with senior team members to support client delivery
Responding to client queries in a professional and timely manner
Supporting the wider team with general accounting and administrative tasks
Ensuring accuracy and compliance across all client work
Requirements
AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent experience) – essential
3–4 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounts preparation
Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Good communication and client service skills
Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop
