An independent firm in Northampton, which specialises in small business services, are now looking for an Accounts Assistant to join the team. They are ACA certified, and by extension, Business Advice Services (BAS) so that they can provide advice to SMEs across the country. They also help SMEs with their tax and other matters.
The business also helps sole traders/individuals with their Personal Tax Returns, and other services within agreed budgets. They mainly operate using Xero and offer other support services for businesses in the local area.
The role is ideally suited to someone who is completing or has just finished AAT level 4, and as the practice is registered with ACA, they can provide some study support on ACA too. They are looking for someone at an Assistant level, so around 2 years of experience within an accounting practice is essential.
Main duties:
- Working with small businesses and sole traders to assist with their Accounts and Tax
- Preparing Accounts with the Senior team, assisting with different stages of the production process
- Liaising with clients about their general queries
- Working to agreed budgets and within agreed timelines
- Filing Personal Tax Returns
- An Accounts Assistant or Trainee who has completed AAT Level 2/3 and 4, or part way through 4
- Open to continuing studies via ACA
- Around 2 years of accountancy practice experience
- Local to Northampton and happy to work in the office
- Full time position in Northampton
- Salary circa £24,000 - £26,000
