The Opportunity – Audit, Accounting & Advisory Manager in Blackburn
A leading chartered accountancy and business advisory firm in Blackburn, Lancashire is seeking an experienced Audit, Accounting & Advisory Manager to join its growing team.
This is an opportunity for a qualified ACA / ACCA professional with strong audit experience to take ownership of a client portfolio, lead audit engagements, and support wider advisory and accounting work within a high-performing practice.
Key Responsibilities
Audit & Accounts Delivery
Lead statutory audit assignments (circa 75% of role) from planning through to completion
Review and finalise financial statements under FRS102 and FRS102-1A
Oversee year-end accounts preparation and ensure technical accuracy
Support complex technical accounting queries
Advisory & Client Work
Deliver ad hoc advisory projects for corporate clients
Act as a trusted adviser to business owners and stakeholders
Collaborate with corporate tax teams to deliver a joined-up service
Identify opportunities to improve service and add value
Client Management & Leadership
Manage a portfolio of corporate clients and act as key contact
Build strong long-term client relationships
Manage budgets, billing and fee recovery
Contribute to improving quality, efficiency and processes
Team Development
Coach and mentor junior staff
Support training delivery and technical development
Work collaboratively with senior managers and partners
Requirements
ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with post-qualified experience
Strong background in audit and accounts within practice
Experience reviewing FRS102 financial statements
Strong client relationship and communication skills
Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets
Ability to lead teams and manage multiple assignments
Organised, proactive and solutions-focused
Location
Based in Blackburn, Lancashire, with travel across the North West and flexible hybrid working available.
