Audit & Accounts Manager – Liverpool | Full-Time | Competitive Salary

Location: Liverpool City Centre
Hours: Full-time
Salary: £53,000 - £70,000
Working Arrangements: Flexible working and early Friday finish

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead multiple audit assignments from planning to completion

  • Supervise audit and accounts teams, providing mentorship and guidance

  • Review working papers, financial statements, and audit reports for technical accuracy

  • Monitor and manage audit budgets and team workloads

  • Run weekly update meetings reporting to directors

  • Maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for audit matters

  • Identify and communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients

  • Stay up to date with UK accounting and auditing standards

  • Support business development efforts, including proposals and identifying new opportunities

Key Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with 3–5 years post-qualified audit experience

  • Proven experience managing audit assignments and teams in practice

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards

  • Commercially aware and able to manage competing priorities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel) and accounting software such as IRIS, TaxCalc, Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage

  • Proactive, highly organised, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
