About the Role
We’re representing a well-established and respected accountancy firm based in Manchester, known for delivering high-quality audit, advisory, and compliance services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Audit Senior to join their dynamic team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional with previous audit experience to take ownership of assignments, develop client relationships, and support junior team members in a collaborative environment. The role offers exposure to a varied range of clients across multiple sectors, along with flexible hybrid working and excellent career progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, perform, and complete audit assignments for a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized companies and charities.

Lead audit fieldwork, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within budget and deadlines.

Supervise, train, and review the work of audit assistants, providing constructive feedback and guidance.

Support and report directly to audit managers and partners on assignment progress and findings.

Prepare financial statements for SMEs and charities as part of audit engagements (if desired).

Prepare corporation tax computations and related documentation where applicable.

Contribute to ad-hoc assignments, such as financial due diligence, cashflow forecasting, and inter-office audit projects.

Maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating professionalism and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ideal Candidate Profile

ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).

Minimum 12–24 months’ experience in an audit role within an accountancy practice.

Strong understanding of UK auditing standards, accounting principles, and financial reporting.

Confident communicator, comfortable liaising directly with clients, managers, and team members.

Experience using CCH Accounts Production, CCH Audit Automation, and Alphatax (preferred, though training can be provided).

High level of attention to detail and technical accuracy.

Motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn and develop further within a supportive team environment.
