The Role of Audit Senior (Accountancy Practice)
This Audit Senior role offers the opportunity to take increasing ownership of a client portfolio, leading audit assignments from planning through to completion while supporting the wider team.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit and financial reporting services to a diverse range of clients across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities
Audit & Technical Responsibilities
- Leading and completing audit fieldwork, including substantive and analytical procedures
- Planning and delivering audit assignments from start to completion
- Preparing audit files with clear and compliant documentation
- Preparing statutory financial statements from client data
- Identifying risk areas and key issues for Partner / Manager review
- Finalising audits in line with UK auditing standards
Client & Portfolio Development
- Beginning to take ownership of a client portfolio
- Building strong and lasting client relationships
- Supporting the delivery of revenue and profitability targets
- Acting as a key point of contact during audit engagements
Team Support & Development
- Coaching and mentoring junior team members
- Supporting team development and knowledge sharing
- Collaborating with Managers and Partners on audit delivery
Audit, Accounting & Client Exposure
This role offers exposure to:
- Audit assignments across multiple industries
- IFRS and UK GAAP reporting standards
- Client-facing responsibilities and relationship management
- Team leadership and mentoring opportunities
About You - Audit Senior Jobs Peterborough
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and technically strong audit professional with experience in accountancy practice.
You will ideally have:
- ACA / ACCA / CA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
- Experience auditing clients across varied sectors
- Experience leading audits and completing assignments end-to-end
- Ability to coach and support junior staff
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and client-focused approach
