Salary: Circa £26,000 - £32,000 negotiable, depending on experience

About the practice:
An independently owned Chartered Accountancy practice in Leicester is now searching for an experienced Bookkeeper to join the team. Established over 20 years ago, they have grown significantly, now serving a diverse portfolio of approximately 2,000 clients across various sectors.
Role overview:
The role is suited to a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, and supporting clients with their financial needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records for a variety of clients
- Process invoices, receipts, payments, and manage accounts payable/receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is up-to-date
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax submissions
- Work closely with the Accounts team to prepare financial reports
- Discuss financial information directly with clients
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a general practice Bookkeeper
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and principles
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
Desirable qualifications:
- AAT 3 and ideally 4
- Experience working in an accountancy firm, and handling multiple clients at once
