The Role - Bookkeeper Job Ilkeston
This is a varied and hands-on practice bookkeeping role, ideal for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice looking to further develop their career.
You will work closely with accountants and clients, supporting across bookkeeping, VAT, and general compliance work.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients
Processing bookkeeping transactions and reconciling accounts
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Assisting with personal tax returns
Supporting accountants with accounts preparation
Handling client queries and building strong working relationships
Providing general administrative support to the accounts team
About You
Minimum 2 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
AAT Level 2 or 3 qualified
Strong bookkeeping and VAT experience
Familiar with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks
Confident communicating directly with clients
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines
Proactive with a willingness to support the wider team
