The Opportunity – Corporate Audit Senior Associate in Manchester

A leading accountancy and advisory firm is seeking a Corporate Audit Senior Associate to join their growing Manchester audit team.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, including corporate businesses, owner-managed companies, charities, and not-for-profit organisations, ranging from start-ups to listed entities.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Delivery & Client Management

  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of audit assignments

  • Act as first point of contact for clients, building strong relationships

  • Produce high-quality audit files and reports for Manager/Partner review

  • Identify risks and provide practical solutions and recommendations

  • Deliver Audit Findings Reports and communicate insights clearly

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor junior team members

  • Provide on-the-job training and support development

  • Review work and ensure high standards across the team

Advisory & Business Development

  • Contribute to advisory engagements across audit and non-audit clients

  • Identify process improvements and added-value opportunities

  • Support wider business development initiatives

Performance & Risk Management

  • Monitor audit progress against budgets

  • Ensure compliance with audit standards, UKGAAP, and regulatory requirements

  • Manage risk across client engagements

Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA / CA qualified (essential)

  • Strong experience in audit and accounting within practice

  • Knowledge of UKGAAP and audit standards

  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills

  • Ability to lead audits and manage multiple assignments

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working with charities or not-for-profit organisations is advantageous

Location
