About the Role
We’re representing a leading independent accountancy and business advisory firm with offices across the North of England and Scotland. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join their Manchester office as part of their national Tax Consultancy team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CTA-qualified tax professional with corporate tax compliance and advisory experience to step into a client-facing role, with responsibility for technical reviews, proactive tax planning, and team mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients, overseeing compliance and advisory services
Review complex corporate tax computations prepared by junior colleagues, ensuring accuracy and quality
Provide training, mentoring, and technical support to Tax Assistants, Seniors, and Assistant Managers
Deliver proactive tax planning advice to clients across a range of industries
Monitor work progress, recoveries, and billing for your client portfolio
Liaise with clients directly, ensuring high levels of service and strong professional relationships
Lead recruitment activities, including involvement in the graduate intake programme
Take formal line management responsibility for Tax Seniors and Trainees
Deliver internal tax technical training and development sessions to support the team’s growth
Ideal Candidate Profile
CTA qualified, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in corporate tax compliance and advisory
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Experience using Alphatax desirable but not essential
Strong technical tax knowledge and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly
Client-facing experience with proven ability to deliver outstanding service
Excellent teamwork skills, able to collaborate across multiple service lines and offices
Confident in delivering training and mentoring junior team members
Organised, proactive, and commercially minded with strong leadership potential
