Junior / Semi Senior Accountant Job Overview (Bromsgrove, Worcestershire)
A well-established chartered accountancy practice in Bromsgrove is seeking a Junior or Semi Senior Accountant to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their practice career to gain hands-on experience across bookkeeping, VAT, tax returns, and accounts preparation, while also supporting clients through the transition to Making Tax Digital (MTD).
The role is fully office-based, offering strong mentorship and exposure to a varied portfolio of small businesses and owner-managed clients.
Key Responsibilities of the Junior / Semi Senior Accountant
Assist with bookkeeping using cloud-based accounting software
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Support clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance and transitions
Prepare personal tax returns
Assist with accounts preparation for small companies
Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries
Work closely with senior team members to meet deadlines
Requirements for Junior / Semi Senior Accountant
Experience within an accountancy practice, at least 2 years
Experience of bookkeeping and VAT processes
Exposure to accounts preparation and/or tax returns
Understanding (or willingness to learn) Making Tax Digital (MTD)
Studying or interested in studying AAT / studying ACA (preferred but not essential)
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
