The Role of Part-Time Payroll Assistant
As a Payroll Assistant, you will support the Payroll Manager in delivering accurate and timely payroll services to a portfolio of clients.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured environment with a strong focus on accuracy and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
- Supporting with RTI submissions to HMRC
- Processing starters, leavers, and payroll changes
- Assisting with pension submissions and auto-enrolment duties
- Handling payroll queries from clients and employees
- Ensuring payroll data is accurate and compliant with legislation
- Supporting general administrative tasks within the payroll team
Payroll & Client Exposure
This role offers experience across:
- End-to-end payroll processing
- Working with a varied client portfolio
- Payroll compliance and HMRC submissions
- Client communication and support
About You - Payroll Assistant Jobs Lincoln
The ideal candidate must have previous payroll experience and a strong attention to detail.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in payroll processing (practice or bureau experience preferred)
- Knowledge of HMRC requirements and RTI submissions
- Experience of CIS
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Confident communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Arrangement
- Based in Lincoln (office-based role)
- 20–25 hours per week
- Flexible working pattern available across the week
