A highly regarded independent Accountancy & Business Advisory firm is looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Senior into its growing payroll team. The Opportunity
Manage a portfolio of payroll clients from start to finish
Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls accurately and efficiently
Administer workplace pension schemes and auto-enrolment processes
Process BACS payments for clients
Liaise directly with HMRC regarding payroll queries and compliance matters
Set up new payroll clients and PAYE schemes
Support payroll analysis work and payroll reconciliations
Assist with PAYE scheme closures and advanced payroll administration tasks
Provide support and guidance to junior payroll team members
Respond to employee and client payroll queries via telephone and email
Maintain payroll records, databases and internal documentation
Assist Payroll Managers with departmental and operational support tasks
Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and client procedures
Candidate Profile
Previous payroll bureau experience is essential
Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience
Knowledge of workplace pensions and auto-enrolment legislation
Experience liaising with HMRC
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Experience using BrightPay payroll software would be highly advantageous
CIPP qualification desirable but not essential
Confident managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
